Step 1 Today I would like to tell you about a children’s story that is very popular with children all over the world. It’s the story named ‘The lion and the rabbit’.
Step 2

How you knew that story

I came across this story when I was looking for some teaching materials for my Foundational English class years ago. It was simple, but interesting, and above all, valuable to everyone.

What that story is about

Well, in that story, a cruel lion lived in a forest, and he considered himself as the king. He killed and ate other animals, which made them so scared of him.

He made a deal with other animals. He promised to eat only one animal, and that animal would come to him every day. So if it didn’t come to him, he would hunt and kill it.

One day, it was a rabbit’s turn to come to the lion. The rabbit was late, which made the lion very angry. Then the rabbit explained that he was hiding from a lion who said that he was the king, so I was so afraid.

The lion asked the rabbit to take him to where the rabbit saw ‘another self-acclaimed king lion’. Then rabbit pointed to the well and said: ‘That’s where the king lion’s living’. The lion jumped to the well and never came out.

Step 3

Explain what you can learn from that story.

I think readers of this story can learn a lot from the rabbit’s clever trick. The rabbit’s small but so smart and brave. He’s calm, too. He doesn’t seem afraid of the scary lion. He came up with a great idea to free him and other animals.

Another lesson that this story teaches is “Don’t be arrogant and never underestimate people, especially your opponents’. If the lion hadn’t thought that he was excellent than anyone else, then he might not have lost his life.

Step 4 That’s all I want to say.
