This law would be to take poor parents who conduct misbehaviors to their children, such as cursing or domestic violence, to court. They would be held accountable for their improper behaviors to their children and punished accordingly. They would be deprived of being parents, and their children would be sent to childcare centers if their children suffer both physically and psychologically.
I suppose enacting this law would be very challenging as in my society, an Asian culture, educating children has been disregarded for hundreds of years. Raising a child is usually confined to how to feed them and send them to reputational schools, which has resulted in several overprotected children. But parents are unaware that they should set good examples for their children. If they can’t manage their emotions, for example, getting angry and vent their anger on their children, they’re likely to copy such bad behaviors.
It would take ages for this law to become popular as the traditional yet inappropriate way of communicating with children has ingrained in Vietnamese parents for hundreds of years. But it would eventually become prevalent in my society as people come to realize the harms of wrong ways of educating children. |

such a new law would be.

In my opinion, there would be two main benefits of such a new law
▶ Firstly, the role of wholesome parenting would be evaluated correctly. In other words, it would be taken seriously, and parent-to-be would have to attend parenting courses to equip themselves with sufficient knowledge and skills of child-rearing. Parenting, therefore, would be less of a tough nut. ▶ Secondly, children would enjoy a happier childhood when parents are not hard on them and understand their thoughts and decisions. They would also learn positive habits and behaviors from their parents. To illustrate this point, my friend now living in Paris told me that her daughter used to be stubborn and bad-tempered because she copied these traits from the mother. But then my friend realized the negative influences of her characters on her children, she corrected these weaknesses and taught her daughter to overcome too. Her daughter is no longer a stubborn and bad-tempered girl. |
